School + Nicolaï Createurs de Parfum

As aulas do Grasse Institute of Perfumery começaram a uma semana e já estou amando. Estamos desenvolvendo nosso senso olfativo por enquanto e aprendendo ingredientes naturais e sintéticos. Até agora, já passamos por mais ou menos 35. Só faltam 475 para memorizar seus distintos odores e respectivos nomes... e preciso avisar, não é tarefa fácil. Acostumar seu nariz, ou melhor, cérebro a fazer algo que nunca lhe foi ensinado a fazer, requer muito treino. Revelado então o mais importante segredo do aprendiz de perfumista: treino e mais treino. Mas não tem problema, pois é para isso mesmo que estou em Grasse!

Mas voltando a falar de perfumes de nicho, faz algum tempo que tenho ouvido falar da "nose" Patricia de Nicolai. Ela fundou junto com seu marido em 1989 a Nicolaï Createurs de Parfum em Paris. Patricia foi praticamente criada na industria da perfumaria francesa e é neta de Pierre Guerlain e foi treinada por Jean-Paul Guerlain. Hoje, possui uma linda empresa de perfumaria de luxo com uma extensa linha de produtos, não somente perfumes, mas também fragrâncias para casa e linha de para banho e corpo.  

Em relação aos seus perfumes, infelizmente, ainda não tive o privilégio de experimentar uma boa quantidade, pois como mencionei acima, sua linha já é bastante extensa. Isto sem dúvida mudará em breve com minha ida a Paris, e sua "maison" já faz parte da minha lista de visitas! Mas com apenas um deles, L'eau Chic EDT deu para ter uma idéia da qualidade e criatividade envolvidas nas suas criações.

L'eau Chic: qual não foi minha surpresa ao verificar o website da empresa, que esta fragrância é "pour homme"! Uma boa prova de que para mim, a classificação de fragrâncias em masculino e feminino tem cada vez menos importância. Achei delicada, fresca, dando um ar de ter acabado de sair do banho por causa do aroma gostoso de sabonete, e com uma tenacidade bem acima da média. Me chamou a atenção a refrescante nota de hortelã logo que aplico na pele, criando um balanço perfeito entre as notas de gerânio, especiarias, sândalo e musks (trabalhar com notas de menta, não é uma tarefa fácil). É um perfume que dá vontade de usar até para dormir, é confortável como um pijama e sem dúvida completará o ritual para se ter um sono tranquilo e sonhos lindos.

The classes at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery have begun one week ago and I already love it. We are developing our sense of smell and learning natural and synthetic raw materials. So far, we've been through about 35. There are only 475 left to memorize their distinctive odors and names ... Not an easy task. Accustom your nose or rather the brain, to do something it was never told to do, requires a lot of training. There, I’ve just revealed the most important secret of a perfumer apprentice: training and more training. But no problem, this is the reason I am in Grasse!

Now, back to talking about niche perfumes. For some time I have been hearing about the "nose" Patricia de Nicolai. She founded with her husband in 1989 Nicolaï Créateurs de Parfum in Paris. Patricia was literally raised in the French perfume industry and she is the granddaughter of Pierre Guerlain and was trained by Jean-Paul Guerlain. Today, they have a lovely company of luxury fragrances with an extensive line of products, not only perfumes but also home fragrances and a line of bath and body care.

About her perfume’s line, unfortunately, I have not had the privilege of experiencing the majority of them. As I mentioned above, the line is already quite extensive. However, there is no doubt this will soon change with my trip to Paris, and her "maison" is already part of my list of visits to make! But trying only one of them, L'eau Chic EDT, already gave me an idea of ​​the quality and creativity involved in her creations.

L'eau Chic: What was my surprise when checking the company's website, this fragrance is "pour homme"! Perhaps a good prove that, in my opinion, the classification of male and female fragrances is becoming less important. I thought it delicate, fresh, making me feel as I just walked out of the shower because of the delicious soapy aspect. The tenacity is well above average. The refreshing note of mint caught my attention as soon as I applied in the skin, creating a perfect balance between the notes of geranium, spices, sandalwood and musks (working with notes of mint, is not an easy task). It is a perfume that makes you want to wear to sleep also. It's as comfortable as pajamas and no doubt will complete the ritual of having a restful sleep and beautiful dreams...
