The
name of the French perfume house Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier refers to
the patent granted to the French glovers' guild by Lous XIV in March
1656: Les statuts des maîtres gantiers parfumeurs. The perfume house was created in 1988 by the founder of L'Artisan Parfumeur, Jean-Francois Laporte, and
was inspired by the birth of perfumery as an art and the strong perfume
trade during the reign of the Great Louis or the Sun King (Louis XIV),
who enjoyed and patronized the arts.

Doge of Venice. (clique aqui para ler o artigo completo)
